Didem Şinik Arıkan started her career at Saint Joseph High School, going on to graduate from Marmara University’s Department of Communication and Public Relations. She then served as Public Relations Manager at Saint Joseph High School for two years, during which time she edited the SJ Magazine, which was published every two months.
Between 1994 and 2002, she worked as the Customer Relations Director at the Bozell Poyraz advertising agency. After this, she managed the communication processes of national and international brands at various advertising agencies for three years. She then worked as a senior consultant in the senior management communications team, responsible for national-scale, long-term crisis communication strategies, at an Ankara-based company which provided consultancy services to the Turkish Ministries of Health and National Education.
In 2006, she joined PepsiCo Turkey, where she managed the internal and external communications agenda for 16 years. She was responsible for corporate communications, CSR projects, and brand PR strategies. With over 30 years’ experience in media relations, reputation management, crisis communication and social and digital communication, Didem Şinik Arıkan then served as Global Communications Director at Getir for over two years.
Recently elected to the Board of Directors of both the Corporate Communications Association (KİD) and the Wellbeing Association, she also serves as a mentor in the Million Women Mentorship Programme.
Didem Şinik Arıkan lives with her husband, three dogs and two cats.
