She was born in Konya in 1971. She graduated from the Department of English Medicine at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1996. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the Internal Medicine Clinic of Haseki Training and Research Hospital. After working as an internal medicine specialist at the Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital, she completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at the same hospital, becoming a gastroenterologist in 2007.
Between 2009 and May 2025, she worked as a gastroenterology specialist at Acıbadem Healthcare Group hospitals. Since 2012, she has pursued an academic career as a lecturer at the Acıbadem University Faculty of Medicine.
In May 2025, she left Acıbadem Healthcare Group and Acıbadem University to begin working at Memorial Healthcare Group. She currently continues her academic work as a lecturer in the Department of Internal Medicine at Arel University Faculty of Medicine, while also continuing her clinical practice as a gastroenterology specialist at Memorial Şişli Hospital and Memorial Bahçelievler Hospital.
For over 10 years, she has focused particularly on anorectal diseases (constipation and faecal incontinence), pelvic floor dysfunctions (pelvic pain, sexual and urological dysfunction), and functional gastrointestinal diseases. She has played an active role in multidisciplinary pelvic floor health units, contributing to the development of diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation processes in this field.
Dr. Özdal Ersoy combines a wellbeing approach with evidence-based Western medical principles, taking a holistic view of patient assessment and treatment. To this end, she has completed Biointegrative Breath Therapist and Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist training programmes organised in collaboration with Yükselen Çağ Wellbeing Academy and Gedik University. In 2022, she completed Gedik University’s Wellbeing Coach training programme and earned the title of ‘Wellbeing Expert’.
Dr. Özdal Ersoy is married and has two children.
